What is the project about?

We want to understand what it's like for people with intellectual disability when they go to their GP.

We want to talk to individuals. We call this an interview.

We'll use what you say to help make training for GPs, nurses and other practice staff about disability.

There is more information about being invovled in the information sheets here.

Can you help?

We want to talk to adults with intellectual disability and their support people.

We want to know what

  • happened when you went to the GP
  • things that need to change
  • we need to teach GP staff about disability

What do you have to do?

  • sign a consent form. This says you are happy to be in the project.
  • talk to us. It can take about an hour.
  • answer questions about you like how old you are and how often you see the GP

Who do we want to talk to?

We want to talk to people who:

  • are 18 years or older
  • have an intellectual disability or support someone who does
  • live in Australia

What do you get?

To say thank you for sharing your time and story with us, we will give you a $50 gift card after doing the interview.

If you do the interview on the phone or video call we will post you the gift card.

I have a question, who do I ask?
